With regard to business innovation aspects, Porto Conte Ricerche organises various programmes with a single goal: to help Sardinian companies grow through technological innovation. The experience of Porto Conte Ricerche is based on its relationship with companies from two sectors that are very different in terms of their history, business structure, size, knowledge and know-how:

The “traditional” sector

These are companies with an economic activity based on the production and sale of goods and/or services resulting from their own know-how and local or family background. They have usually been in business for several years. Most companies operating in the food industry in Sardinia belong to this ”category”. More than 100 such companies have participated in business innovation initiatives organised by Porto Conte Ricerche over the past 5 years.

The “High-tech” sector

We use this term to describe companies with an economic activity based on the development and production of goods or, more frequently, of services with a high technological content. Those established in Sardinia are generally very young companies, made up of individuals with previous experience in high-tech companies or research centres. Other companies, with the same characteristics, originated outside of the region but have recently established all or part of their development and production laboratories in Sardinia. This is almost always in the two centres (Pula and Alghero) of the Sardinian PST.
