Packaging and Shelf-life lab

This laboratory offers advanced services for shelf life studies for products and packaging systems. It provides equipment for testing plastic films, the atmosphere inside packages and the products. The services include chemical, physical, mechanical and microbiological analyses of food products, assessment and determination of the shelf life of packaged products, studies on packaging and optimisation of food/packaging systems.

Technological equipment

The technological equipment includes a dynamometer, a vacuum chamber machine, a semi-automatic tray sealer for MAP packaging, gas headspace analysers, devices for testing the permeability of plastic films, a water activity analyser and other accessory devices.
