“Microbial Proteomics”: Preliminary Program
- Introduction to Microbial Proteomics
- Three theoretical and practical sessions covering the following topics:
- Opportunities, relevance and application of proteomic technologies to the characterization of microorganisms;
- Methods for analyzing the proteome and the sub-proteome of cultured microorganisms, from protein extraction to sample characterization;
- Methods for analyzing the proteome of microorganisms extracted from naturally or experimentally infected tissues/organs, from protein extraction to sample characterization;
- Preparation of protein extracts for high resolution mass spectrometry analysis (shotgun proteomics);
- Analysis of peptide mixtures by high resolution mass spectrometry (shotgun proteomics);
- Identification and taxonomical-functional annotation of peptides/proteins with bioinformatic tools (generation of sequence databases, database search, taxonomic annotation, functional annotation).
